The Environment Agency recently sent an email out to thousands of companies who have yet to comply with ESOS. The email read the following:
Dear Sir or Madam
Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme Regulations 2014.
We have reason to believe that your organisation comes under the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS). If we are correct, you need to take action to ensure that you comply with the ESOS requirements by the deadline on 5 December 2015.
ESOS is a new UK scheme to encourage large organisations to save energy and money. It does this by requiring organisations to undertake regular assessments to identify cost-effective energy saving measures for supplies to buildings, industrial processes and transport.
If you qualify, you must undertake an assessment of your organisation’s energy use before 5 December 2015.
We strongly encourage you to read the information on the following links to ensure that you comply by 5 December 2015.
If you qualify for ESOS and you do not comply by the deadline you may be penalised or fined.
